    pictures

I've posted some new pictures.  As you can see Jessie is really looking awesome!!  I'm so proud of her, the weight just seems to be falling off.  I know that she's tried very hard completing 18 miles for walk kansas last week.  You may notice i don't really look any different.  I've lost 30 some pounds but its really hard to see where the changes have accured.  I've always struggled in this way, so i dunno really.  I'm sure i'll have to drop ALOT of weight in order to really show a difference.  I have noticed some difference in my clothes and i have more energy.  So those are the things i'm trying to focus on right now.  If i concentrate too much on the way i look then i'll easily get frustrated.
Congratulations to all of you who are still losing and keep up the good work!!

    Concerns

First of all Jessie lost a pound this week....GO JESSIE!!!  I'm back up a pound in my weight.  It seems to be the pattern with me.  Maybe next week i'll be down again.
My concern is my sleeping patterns.  The last week or so i've been SO tired.  I haven't been able to get out of bed in the mornings to do any exercise before work.  I'm finding it hard to even be awake and alert enough to drive to work in the  mornings.  I don't know why the change has taken place or why i'm so tired.  I've still been watching what i eat and getting the right amount of calories.  I just haven't been able to work out as much and i'm lacking energy.  I'm still working out at the gym in the evenings.  Anyway i don't know if i'm creating this slump because i'm getting to that point where i start to jeaprodize myself or if there really is something else thats going on thats making me so tired.  Maybe i should just try pushing through the sleepiness, getting up and working out and finding out if the sleepiness passes. -Tracy

    Walk Kansas

Jessie and I have signed up with a walking team who pledge to walk the 423 miles that equals the distance across KS.  The teams are groups of six and all members of the walking team split the mileage among themselves.  Its a pledge to be a healthier individaul and a healthier Kansan.  The program also incourages the particiapants to track their daily fruit and vegitable intake, and incourages getting your heart rate up along with information on how to read your heart rate.  We thought it would be a fun program to join.  Anyone who wants to take a look at what we are doing can visit www.walkkansas.org Since "Walk Kansas" became a state-wide program in 2002 it has grown from aprox. 5,000 participants to over 20,762 in 2007!  Jessie and I are excited to be taking part in the 2008 event.

not so much of a loss

So this week when i weighed in i was back down 4 lbs.  Thats a loss and thats good, but what frustrates me is its still 2lbs higher then my weight was 2 weeks ago.  It seems that i'm just fluxuating these 4-6 lbs.  It would be so nice to see an actual loss but i'm not sure there really has been one for a couple weeks.  I'm finding it very hard to stay motivated.  I'm working so hard and when the effort doesn't seem to be paying off its hard to stay focused.  There's a part of me that just wants to give in and have a cheeseburger.  I've got the "Evil Cheeseburger Blues"  I hope to at least be a couple lbs below my last weigh in at the gym.  Thats only a couple weeks away and so far it seems grim:(  I just think it may be seriously disapointing if my weight is higher this month at the gym then last.  I mean a whole month aprox. 30 days and no weight loss will be so depressing!! -Tracy

    Gain

Sunday at our weekly weigh in i had gained 2lbs and by monday morning i was up 6 lbs.  WHAT is going on?? I haven't got a clue.  I'm still on track with my diet, i've been working out.  I have no idea why the sudden increase in weight.  I'm hoping this is just a case of water retention or something.  I'm so devistated at my current "failure".  Thats what is feels like failure!!  I'm trying really hard not to lose my focus and stay on track.  Its really hard when you feel like the odds are against you:(  Please let next week be better! -Tracy

    Monthly Weigh In

I've been going to the gym now for 4 month.  At the gym i attend we weigh and measure once a month.  Well in the previous months i havent noticed a big difference, however since i've been watching my diet and adding other work outs during my spare time.  I had a really good weigh in.  This month i lost 15lbs and 15.5 inches.  YAY:):)
This seems to be working for me.   Jessie and i both will be weighing in on a weekly basis now that we've started the million pound match-up but prior to that i was only weighing in once a month.  So in the future i should know my results sooner and i'll be posting more frequently. -Tracy

    Less salt

Last night on biggest loser Rocco what helping some of the contestants cook food.  I happend to learn a great tip watching.  Rocco had mentioned that in order to cut salt out of your diet try using red pepper.  So this morning on my scrambled egg whites i tried crushed red pepper instead of salt.  IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!!  There was still plenty of flavor and i didn't miss the salt.  I'm going to start making red pepper instead of salt whenever i can.  -Tracy

    2/5/08

Last night 2/5/08  Jessie did 30 minutes on the treadmill.........go Jessie!
I went to the gym and before bed did 30 minutes of biggest loser cardio.  I attempted to do level two cardio, i'm not quite there but i'm working on it!
